There has never been a more important time to be affirming and reaffirming the strong alliance based on shared values between the United States and South Korea.
Hopefully, we are at a critical juncture(关键的十字路口) where we have the potential to usher(引领) in a time of unprecedented(史无前例的) prosperity for the peninsula(半岛), and of course peace.
And women will play an enormous role in enabling that outcome.
Women's economic empowerment(经济独立自主) is not a women's issue; it's an economic issue, it's a national security issue, a defense issue, and it's a social justice issue.
So we have to be coming together, and we have to be talking about how we can leverage(充分利用) arguably the most undervalued resource in the world, which is the potential of women.
It's fitting that we we come back here at at such a pivotal(关键的) moment, and and such a moment of of great optimism. And I thank you for the warm welcome.
